Missing Tennessee teen found safe, teacher arrested for kidnapping

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WDBJ7) The 15-year-old Tennessee girl who disappeared with a teacher last month has been found safe, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tweeted Thursday.

The 50-year-old teacher Elizabeth Thomas was with, Tad Cummins, is under arrest. Investigators had warrants charging him with sexual contact with a minor and aggravated kidnapping.

Cummins and Thomas were reported missing on March 13.

Cummins had searched the topic of teen marriage before disappearing, according to the TBI. Three days before the kidnapping, Cummins did similar online research about his Nissan Rogue, trying to figure out if certain features could be tracked by law enforcement.

Another student had reported seeing him kiss the girl prior to the disappearance.
