Montgomery County Sheriff's Office arrests Christiansburg woman for Monday shooting

MONTGOMERY CO., Va. (WDBJ7) The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office investigated a shooting outside of an apartment complex near Christiansburg Monday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, when deputies arrived at the scene on the 200 block of Belview Drive they found two vehicles collides and a number of shots had been fired at the scene.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The situation was between a husband and wife.

46-year old Moledy Lynette Mitchell was arrested at the scene for an outstanding capias for failure to appear in Bedford General District Court.

Montgomery County also charged her with Leaving the scene of an accident and Attempted malicious wounding, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor counts of Reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, and Discharge of a firearm in a public place.

She is being held in Montgomery County Jail without bond.
