Montgomery County deputies charge man in fatal shooting after confession

MONTGOMERY CO., Va. (WDBJ7) Update:

Montgomery County deputies say a man has been arrested for fatally shooting someone on Friday at 43 Boggs Mountain Loop in the Mountain Creek Mobile Home Park.

Daniel Crimmins, 48, of Elliston, was charged with second degree murder and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Deputies say he confessed to the murder. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail with no bond.

Montgomery County deputies say they found Christian Javier Santana, 37, of Roanoke, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Deputies are still investigating the incident.

Montgomery County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at 43 Boggs Mountain Loop in the Mountain Creek Mobile Home Park.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November, 24.

The man who was shot was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he died.

Deputies say a full release about the incident will be released later today.
