BEDFORD CO., Va. (WDBJ7) A murder suspect with alleged ties to the MS-13 gang was arrested in Bedford County Tuesday. Jose Coreas-Ventura was arrested on a murder warrant from Montgomery County, Maryland.

Coreas-Ventura waived extradition to Maryland during a court hearing in Bedford Wednesday afternoon. A defense attorney said he could be taken back to Maryland at any time. Coreas-Ventura was still in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail as of Thursday morning.

Police in Maryland said Coreas-Ventura is one of four suspects in the June murder of an 18-year-old man in Gaithersburg. In July, police said all four suspect had ties to the MS-13 gang. Two of the suspects were taken into custody over the summer.

It's not clear what Coreas-Ventura was doing in Bedford County or how long he'd been there before his arrest Tuesday.
