Nativity scene vandalized and head stones overturned at Forest church cemetery

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Bedford County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident in which property at a local church was vandalized.

Deputies received a call at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning from Shiloh United Methodist Church on Forest Road. The caller advised that their nativity scene had been vandalized and headstones in the cemetery were overturned.

Upon arrival, deputies found the overturned figures along with cut electrical cords. According to the sheriff's office, a large number of headstones had been pushed over and eight were broken.

In December 2012, Shiloh United Methodist Church had 12 large figures from their nativity scene stolen. Later, Bedford County Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged several juvenile males with those crimes.
