ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) Garden Clubs have been around for a long time.
The one in Natural Bridge has been there for 85 years,
And the members got together for lunch Wednesday to celebrate.
Apparently, they say, it's not all been seeds and flowers.
"The ladies would get together and they'll talk, and sometimes they do tell us stories from way back when," says Garden Club President Debbie Levonick. "I found a lot of information from the old minutes in the Washington and Lee archives. And I read them and I go: Holy smokes! And some of them are very short, because they were hand written."
The club got a certificate from the National Garden Clubs, along with a visit from the national president, the Virginia and regional presidents.
