The event honored all 59 of the city's military lost in battle. The names of those who died were read aloud and a 21-gun salute to honor their lives.
This day is especially meaningful for Gary Harris, who lost a friend in Vietnam.
"I've never forgot him, and I'm sure out of the 59 names here there are family members that have not forgotten," said Harris, a Radford VFW commander.
The Radford High School band played military songs and the choir sang the National Anthem. Several people also spoke at the event.
This year marks the 18th time that this ceremony has been held.
