ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) The Roanoke Star Soccer Club broke ground Thursday on a new $2 million soccer complex.
The complex will stand on what used to be the Countryside Golf Course.
Once complete, the complex will feature five full-size fields, one junior field and a multi purpose facility.
"This is just unbelievable. It's just a game changer for our club. A beautiful facility with great immaculate fields and when the indoor facility gets finished it's just the total package," said Danny Beamer, Executive Director of the Roanoke Star Soccer Club.
There are more than 800 players on 52 teams in the Roanoke Star Soccer Club.
The first tournament is planned for May.
