New pinball arcade opens in uptown Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) If you love arcade games, especially pinball, we have good news for you. A new arcade just opened in uptown Martinsville.

The owner of Uptown Pinball tells us it's unlike any other arcade in this area.

All you do is come in, buy a wristband, and every game in there is set on free play.

"I don't care if this place makes a dollar. At the end of the day, everybody gets to play the game and they get to chase the silver ball," says owner, Mike Haley.

It's $12 for the whole day and you can play all the games you want.

"There are stand alone arcade machines, Pandora has 680 games, there are racing games. There are ski ball. I have ski ball in Martinsville, I just need a beach," says Haley.

He has been collecting pinball machines since 2011.

He says he owns about 40, with 23 in the arcade now and even more unique ones on the way.

"I've always wanted an arcade since I was a little bitty boy, and so, I've got an arcade," he says.

He's so happy that he can bring something so positive to Martinsville, and he hopes to bring people in from all over.

"This gives people something to do and something to come out. It's a destination. I've become a field trip. I love it. I love it," he says.

They're open seven days a week.
Monday - Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. - midnight
Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
