Northside parents host 'Cinderella's Closet', an affordable dress sale

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) It's the start of prom season for high schools in the region. One school community wants to make sure it is accessible for all students.

Northside High School in Roanoke County is hosting a program called Cinderella's Closet. Prom dresses can be expensive, so Northside PTA hosts a sale of prom dresses at an extremely discounted rate. People bring in gently worn formal gowns and provide a five dollar donation. The money raised from the program helps fund their after prom party, keeping teens safe and off the roads during the late hour.

"It helps because it allows us to give back to the youth of our community and the youth is our future," said Tabitha Cain. "We feel it is benefiting everybody that way."
