BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) A relative of the man charged with killing Katherine and Sheila Lyon in Bedford County is no longer facing an obstruction of justice charge in the same jurisdiction.

A Bedford County judge has dismissed Amy Welch Johnson's case. She was arrested in 2015, after providing testimony to a special grand jury investigating the Lyon's disappearance.

Lloyd Lee Welch, Jr. is scheduled to go on trial this year on charges of first degree felony murder. Prosecutors have alluded to their belief that Welch kidnapped and murdered the Lyon sisters from a Maryland shopping mall in 1975, before killing them in Bedford County.
