LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) The paving work in downtown Lexington has been extended by a few days.
The rains we saw last week, and one night when they had too many cars parked on the street they had planned to pave, delayed the work into this week.
"I think most people got the gist of it now, seeing predominantly most of the roadways in our work zone have been milled, so they know something’s coming," says Lexington City Engineer Jeff Martone. "And we have been peppering the work zone with cones and signage, and so hopefully people will heed them and be out of the work area when we’re trying to pave.”
They plan to be finished on Thursday.
