Pedestrian sent to hospital after crash in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The Lynchburg Police Department and Lynchburg Fire and EMS say they responded to a crash involving a pedestrian just after 7 p.m. Friday.

They say it happened in the 3000-block of Old Forest Road.

Witnesses told authorities the pedestrian into the road, and was hit by a Honda CRV.

The driver of the Honda, identified as Carlos Gorostiaga, 71, of Lynchburg. The pedestrian, identified as Juan Carlos Rivas, 56, of Lynchburg.

Rivas was taken to Lynchburg General for treatment, but is listed in stable condition.

No charges have been filed. The crash is still under investigation.
