Police: Lynchburg high school student hit by car in critical condition

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- A high school student is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

Officers responded to the incident in the 400 block of Wiggington Rd. around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

LPD says the pedestrian, an 18-year-old LCA student, was hit by the car just outside his home and suffered a head injury.

As of 11 a.m. he was listed in stable but critical condition.

When asked if the 24-year-old woman driver is being charged, LPD said the incident is still under investigation.
