Police: Man crashes motorcycle after being shot in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened early Thursday morning.

The call came in just after 4:30 a.m. from Rodes St. in the 400 block of Rivermont Ave.

Police say the call originally came in as an accident with injury, but after EMS personnel responded, they found a victim, who had crashed his motorcycle, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say they then began investigating the accident as a malicious wounding.

Police say the 34-year-old male victim suffered serious injuries.

At this time, police say no arrests have been made.
