ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE: 7/12/18
According to the Roanoke Police Department, Jacob Aldridge, 19, of Salem, who was shot on Eastern Avenue Tuesday night in Roanoke has died.

Police say Alridge died from his injuries at around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
Police are investigating this incident as a homicide.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Mike Stevens, Communications Director of the City of Salem, has confirmed to WDBJ7 that Aldridge was previously a student at Salem High School until June 2017.
Roanoke Police have identified a man who was shot in the back of the head Tuesday night in the 1600 block of Eastern Avenue.
The victim -- identified as 19-year-old Jacob Aldridge of Salem -- was transported to Roanoke Carilion Memorial Hospital. His condition is still listed as critical at this time.
Officials on scene tell WDBJ7 that a young man was shot in the back of the head Tuesday night in front of 1642 Eastern Avenue in Roanoke at around 9:50.
Police say the man was taken to the hospital where he is currently being treated. Officials say he is in critical condition.
Police are still actively searching for who may have been responsible for this shooting and they have not made any arrests at this time.
Officials on scene tell WDBJ7 that they are taking extra precaution because this is the same location where a shooting happened on Thanksgiving Day.

Authorities confirm one person has been taken to the hospital after a shooting Tuesday night.
It happened along the 1600 block of Eastern Avenue, around 9:50 p.m.
Police are still on the scene investigating.
