LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE
Rockbridge County authorities say about $10,000 was stolen from Cornerstone Bank in Lexington.

Schools in the area of the incident were under lockdown status, but officials tell us that students are now being released.

We're told that a middle school in the area is releasing students later than normal, but no word on the status of surrounding schools.

Rockbridge County authorities are looking for a man involved in a bank robbery in the Hunter Hill area in Lexington.

The incident happened around 2:15 Monday afternoon at the CornerStone Bank branch in the College Square Shopping Center on North Lee Highway.

Police are looking for a white male with a bald head wearing a plaid blue shirt.

According to the county's alert system, some schools in the area are under lockdown status until further notice.
