Roanoke Police: Man taken into custody after stand-off on North Avenue

UPDATE:

Roanoke police confirm that the situation is over and a man was taken into custody as a result of the incident.

According to Scott Leamon from the Roanoke Police Department, charges are pending against the man for brandishing a firearm.

UPDATE:

Roanoke police confirm officers are on North Avenue in response to a call about an adult male who may have wanted to harm himself.

North Avenue between 13th Street and 20th Street is currently blocked off by police vehicles.

We are told the man may be armed.
