Postal Service requests input on Roanoke consolidation

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The U.S. Postal Service is reviewing the consolidation of the Roanoke mail processing facility.

And now the agency's Office of Inspector General is asking postal customers for their input.

Congressmen Bob Goodlatte and Morgan Griffith requested an audit in May, after receiving complaints about lost or late mail.

In a post on the Inspector General's website, the agency is asking customers if they have been affected by mail processed at the Roanoke facility.

The page includes a form for people to share information about their experience.

It also says the evaluation of mail processing operations will be released in January 2017.
