RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) The founder of the Radford Adventure Club met with parents about accusation of child abuse at the daycare center.

Donna Thornton-Roberts tells us she's making immediate changes to the center's policies after two of her staff members were arrested Friday.

She says now any staff member who is being investigated by an outside agency will be put on administrative leave while the investigation is happening.

She will also start doing background checks on her employees every other year instead of every three years as the state requires.

The employees arrested had recent criminal histories.

"I want to reassure parents that we are doing everything we can to re-establish trust. We're doing the right thing. Parents who have withdrawn, we're refunding their money," said Donna Thornton-Roberts, the founder of the Adventure Center Club.

She says half the children have been removed by parents from the center since the arrests.

A new camera monitoring system will be installed in July that eliminates blind spots and is more easily accessible for parents.

Charlotte Hall was charged with five courts of assault and battery and seven of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and is accused of spanking a child off a video monitoring system.

Kimberly Hall is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice for withholding information from police.
