RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) The Radford Police Department is asking for your help to win a competitive five thousand dollar grant for crime prevention.

The national contest from the group Aftermath called Why We Serve is awarding the grant to one of four law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

Radford's Lt. Andy Wilburn chose to partner with the organization Help Save the Next Girl to explain why he serves.

"If I can educate and make all our citizens aware of how not to be victim of a crime, how to be aware of your surroundings, how to do things to prevent becoming a victim then I've done my job effectively," said Lt. Andy Wilburn, with the Radford Police Department.

Wilburn can only win if he has the most votes. Help the Radford PD win by voting, just follow this link http://www.aftermath.com/why-we-serve/
