Radford University kicks off it's first day of class

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Several of area colleges and universities head back to class this week. Radford University welcomes one of it's largest class of Highlanders.

The class of 2021 is very diverse, with a third identifying with a racial minority group. The school reports about 40% of the incoming freshmen are first generation college students. This is also one smart group of kids, their high school g-p-a was higher than the previous years.

"I'm excited that we have so many new highlanders that that are able to get involved and know Radford Community and Campus. I'm looking forward to the student involvement and all the great events we have planned this year," said Julianna Stanley, Radford SGA President.
Most students started their first class at 8 this morning.
