RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Close to 2,000 students from two dozen states started moving onto campus at Radford University Thursday morning.

Students and their families filled up bins and waited in lines to get to their dorms.

About 600 upperclassmen mostly part of student organizations helped the new students move in.

Fifty of those helpers are just students who wanted to come back early and help new students get adjusted to campus.

"Last year when I moved in it was a pretty smooth experience and I felt like it would be nice of me to help some other students move in so smoothly," Logan Fisher, a Radford University sophomore, said.

Students are allowed to move in through Friday. Classes start Monday.
