Rail Yard Dawgs beat Fayetteville 4-2 for first-ever win at the Berglund Center

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs were back on the home ice Friday night taking on Fayetteville, looking for their third win in a row.

Sam Ftorek's team started hot. The Dawgs led 2-1 after a period, and early in the second, it was Steve Mele. He gets denied the first time but puts it in the net on the second effort giving Roanoke the 3-1 cushion.

Brandon Anderson was solid between the pipes for the Dawgs. He stopped 30 of 32 shots.

The FireAntz got one past him late in the second period but Roanoke held on to win it by a final of 4-2.
