LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) This weekend the best youth footballs teams in Bedford, Campbell, and Appomattox counties will face off in the first ever "Blue Ridge Bowl."

The event is a championship, featuring the top squads from Bedford County and the Virginia Youth Football Leauge.

Three games will be played on the field in Williams Stadium at Liberty University.

"For the most part these kids either play on local high school fields or parks and recreation facilities, so the opportunity to play at Liberty University will be a big draw for them," said Wyatt Woody, director of Bedford County Parks & Recreation.

The Blue Ridge Bowl is this Saturday. 7 and 8-year-old teams will play at 10 in the morning, followed by 9 and 10-year-old teams at 12:30 PM.

11, 12, and 13-year-old teams will finish off the day at 3 PM.
