(WDBJ7) William Fleming grad Steve Robinson is in his 22nd year alongside Roy Williams as an assistant, including eight years at Kansas and another 14 at North Carolina.

Steve played at both Ferrum College and Radford University and this weekend, he made his eighth Final Four appearance as a coach.

The former head coach at Tulsa and Florida State, Robinson will try to help Coach Williams win his third national title. And his former coach at Fleming, Charlie Van Lear, will be watching the national championship game intently.

"He's living the dream," said Van Lear. "He's right there on the sideline. It's been an interesting ride to follow him to this point so I'm real excited for him tonight."
