UPDATE: Police identify person found dead near Roanoke business

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE:

Roanoke police have identified a man who was found hanging in a tree along the 4000 block of Melrose Avenue as Ferdinand Tazama.

Family members told police Tuesday morning that Tazama had been missing since Saturday.

They do not suspect foul play in Tazama's death.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Roanoke police are investigating a death near a business in Northwest Roanoke.

Officers were seen working in a parking lot near Harbor Freight Tools on Peters Creek Road. A WDBJ7 photographer at the scene reported seeing a man hanging from a tree at this location, which was visible near a busy intersection.

Police cleared the scene shortly before 2:30 PM Tuesday.
