UPDATE: Man charged in Roanoke stabbing

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE:

Roanoke police confirm a man has been charged in a stabbing that happened Monday morning.

Jeremy Daniel Graves was arrested Monday afternoon and is charged with malicious wounding.

He was taken to Roanoke City Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Roanoke police say a man is expected to be okay after being stabbed near a home in Southwest Roanoke Monday morning.

Charles Fisher, 55, was stabbed around 6 AM Monday according to Roanoke Police Department spokesperson Scott Leamon.

Leamon said Fisher transported himself to the emergency room at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after the incident.

Part of Woods Avenue SW was shut down Monday as police gathered evidence and investigated the cause of Franklin's stabbing.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the incident.
