Roanoke police looking for man who robbed Exxon convenience store on Hershberger Road

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Roanoke Police Department is looking for a man who they say robbed the Exxon convenience store in the 2800 block of Hershberger Road Monday.

According to Roanoke police, officers responded to the Exxon convenience store at around 8:51 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, officers were told a black man in his early teens or 20s came into the store with his face covered and demanded the clerk to open the cash register. Police said the man reached toward his waistband acting like he had a weapon, but did not actually display a weapon.

Roanoke police said the man grabbed cash from the register and ran away.

The man is described as 5'6" tall and has a thin build.
