Roanoke seeks input on greenway art

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Roanoke is looking for feedback on what type of art people would like to see along the greenway system.

Susan Jennings, Roanoke Arts and Culture Coordinator, said, “Well, when the arts commission plans public art projects, we never just go into a community and plop the art down. We always want to know what the community is interested in and what they would like to see.”

Heather Lyne is a Virginia Tech graduate who applied for and received a grant from Tech. That grant is allowing her to create the survey and collect the survey's responses.

Lyne will take survey information, and the city will hopefully will be able to plan art projects during the next fiscal year. The survey will be up through the end of 2017.
