ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Court Rosen has stepped down from the Commonwealth Transportation Board, after he was charged with driving under the influence over the weekend.

State officials confirm that Rosen submitted his resignation on Monday.

A spokesperson for the Salem Police Department said Rosen was charged Sunday evening, after officers responded to a report of reckless driving downtown.

A former member of Roanoke City Council, Rosen has served as the region's representative on the transportation board for the last four years.

In 2016, he pleaded guilty in Roanoke to a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
