Salem Museum exhibit celebrates Toys of Christmas Past

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ7) As children in western Virginia hope for a holiday filled with new presents, the Salem Museum is celebrating the Toys of Christmas Past.

An exhibit now on display includes a wide variety of vintage toys, 50 to 100 years old.

And museum staffers say it's been fun to see how different generations interact with toys from another time.

Fran Ferguson is the Executive Director of the Salem Museum.

"It's a good opportunity for children to learn more about their parents lives," Ferguson told WDBJ7, "for adults to share stories, and pass those stories and memories on to the next generation."

One of the highlights of the exhibit is the American Flyer model train layout.

The Toys of Christmas Past will be on display through January 13th.

Admission is free.
