SALEM, Va. (WDBJ7) There was a strong showing for the home team Saturday as the Salem Red Sox honored WDBJ7 journalists Alison Parker and Adam Ward.
People were streaming into the stadium Saturday afternoon, wearing the maroon and teal that have become symbols of Alison and Adam's spirits.
It was the latest way the community's honored the memory of the Channel 7 friends and coworkers.
So many in attendance said this was a way to see their favorite team play while supporting their hometown.

"It's uplifting, uplifting. You know, makes you feel good," Bonnie Dulaney, who attended the game, said. "[Alison] was so sweet and energetic. It just broke my heart to see that happen so we wanted to come and support this tonight."
Attendance clocked in just over 5,200 people, making this the fifth-most attended game of the year.
