Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg opens shelter up to those affected by storm

LYNCHBURG, Va., (WDBJ7) -- The Salvation Army of Lynchburg’s shelter has opened their doors to those who have been affected by the storms.

They are working to access needs and determine how to serve the community and recovery.

The Lynchburg and Roanoke Salvation Army Disaster Response Teams will be providing nourishment and spiritual support to first responders and residents in the affected areas.

The Roanoke canteen will be helping with Elon and Amherst communities and the Lynchburg canteen will be providing food to the Great Lynchburg area.

They are asking for your help. They are in need of donations for the canteen services. They can use individual sized bottled drinks and non-perishable snack items.

If you would like to donate any of these items, they can be dropped off at the Salvation Army in Lynchburg. They are located at 2211 Park Avenue.
