The organization received a large donation of turkeys from the Vibe radio station on behalf of the Steve Harvey Show.

The Roanoke Salvation Army also received about 40 turkeys for their community feeding program.

Organizers say being able to serve the community this thanksgiving meal is humbling. "It's just a time for us to show who we are and how much we love doing what we do and being able to share this meal brings everybody together and how much we love one another," explained Assistant Corps Officer, Kathy Paladino.

Thanksgiving Dinner is open to the public and will be served at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army on Park Ave.
