Several Hidden Valley, Cave Spring athletes sign to play in college

ROANOKE CO., Va. (WDBJ7) Several Roanoke County high school students signed to play in college Wednesday.

At Cave Spring, eight Knights student-athletes signed their letters of intent to play at the next level.

Taylor White is going-on to play basketball nearby at Lynchburg College in the ODAC, while Mason Reyer will be continuing his basketball career in the ODAC as well at Guilford College.

Knights football player, Charlie Ball is headed to Wentworth University to play for the Leopards' program.

Two Knights wrestlers are among the bunch, with Cody Amos signing to wrestle at Virginia Tech, and his teammate, Sam Ring, is going-on to wrestle at Old Dominion.

Another Tech commit signing today was Fallon Delp, who will play for the Hokies' Tennis team.

Cal Clary -- a four-sport athlete at Cave Spring -- has chosen to play soccer at Concord University, while Tessa Muzzy is going to attend Indiana State as a member of their swimming and diving team.


Nearby at Hidden Valley, the Titans had three baseball players signing their letters of intent.
Nick Elder is keeping the Division I tradition rolling in the Elder family and attending the Naval Academy, following in the footsteps of his older brother. The three-year varsity starter will pitch for the Midshipmen.

His teammate and fellow pitcher, Mitch Custer, is headed to the University of Charleston in West Virginia to play for the Golden Eagles.

And Titans catcher, Matt Utermark, will be playing JUCO ball at New River Community College next year.
