LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) The national headquarters of Sigma Nu fraternity in Lexington is planning to add a new building to their complex.

They got approval from Lexington’s Planning Commission to build a new facility on the 10 acres they own in town to provide better conference facilities for meetings and conferences.

The building will also include bunk bed-style housing and new, proper, climate-controlled areas to store their archives, which are currently kept in the basement of the fraternity’s offices.

Sigma Nu was founded in 1869 by three VMI cadets, which is why it is now headquartered in Lexington.
