Five arrested, one wanted in Franklin County theft incidents

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has arrested five individuals and is searching for a sixth on break-in and larceny charges in multiple areas of the county.

Deputies say the investigation began on February 15 when several break-ins were reported in the Glade Hill, Hardy, and Wirtz communities of Franklin County.

Deputies in Franklin County say Alan Crook, 25 of Glade Hill, Austin Crook, 20 of Glade Hill, Bradley Smith, 29, of Rocky Mount, Travis Hicks, 29, of Callaway, Ethan Hundley, 24, of Glade Hill was arrested on multiple charges of Conspiring to Commit Larceny, Receiving Stolen Goods, Grand Larceny, Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Deputies are searching for a sixth individual -- Taylor Hardy, 27, of Rocky Mount. Hardy is wanted on Conspiring to Commit Larceny and two charges of Receiving Stolen Goods.

Deputies say Alan Crook is being held in the Franklin County Jail without bond. Austin Crook, Bradley Smith, and Ethan Hundley are all being held at the Western Virginia Regional Jail. Smith is being held without bond.

According to deputies, Hicks was released on a $4,000 bond.
