SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (WDBJ7) If you meet a certain age restriction you could get in free at the South Boston Speedway this year!

For the first time in recent memory, kids 12 and under will get in free. The general manager says it used to be kids six and under.

She says she hopes this will attract more of the younger generation to the track, and keep them interested in racing for years to come.

"We're hoping that all the children, and youth, I don't like to call them children, but the youth, come out and get involved in racing, We do have a motor sports program here with Go-Karts and through the high school and we like to get the students involved," says South Boston Speedway General Manager, Cathy Rice.

The racing season kicks off on March 24th at the Speedway.

Adult tickets are ten dollars.
