LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) In Lexington, the State 4H Horse and Pony show is underway at the Virginia Horse Center.

The 56th annual show brings together competitors from across the state, who do more than just ride. They've been working all year on their animals and projects.

Kacy Goodson:
"You have to do record books. Your horse has to be prepared, you have to be prepared. It's like mentally and physically exhausting planning for this show, but it's so much fun. It's so worth it."

Hannah Beaver:
"It's a lot of fun. There's so much to do for everyone. There's riding, there's knowledge contests. You can do the art and photography contest. There really is something for everyone."

The show is all weekend, and it's free to come watch.
