RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) A sub-contractor was injured while working Monday at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant’s new energy facility.

He sustained multiple fractures and is being treated at a hospital in Roanoke.

The subcontractor was wearing a safety harness and fall protection equipment, which failed.

All harnesses were replaced Monday night.

There is a safety stand down Tuesday at the plant to retrain employees on elevated falls.
