BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) This festival will have you cheesin'!
The second annual Virginia Cheese Festival is happening Saturday, June 11, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Blacksburg.
You'll learn how to pair cheeses with wines, how to make a quick mozzarella, and indulge in some cheesy dishes.
There will also be cows from Wall Brothers Dairy at the event to help educate children about where cheese comes from. Kristi Snyder hopes the experience will also show children how local farms play an important part in our communities.
We’ve seen in the last couple of decades family farms are becoming a thing of the past. Technology is coming in and it's hard for the local family farm to survive. Especially in this regions we've seen a huge decline in family farms. So we're lucky to be here and happy to share the important work that dairy farmers do.
Admission to the Cheese Festival is $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
