Tim Cromer steps down as Christiansburg High School football coach

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Christiansburg football coach Tim Cromer resigned.

Cromer spent the past 15 years coaching at his alma mater.

“The Blue Demon football team will miss Coach Cromer,” Principal Tony Deibler said in a statement. “He is dedicated to our students and to their success both on and off the field.”

Cromer led the Blue Demons to the VHSL playoffs for 10 years. His overall record at Christiansburg was 98-75.

He will stay on as a health and physical education teacher at Christiansburg, and will continue as an assistant coach for the school’s indoor and outdoor track teams.

The search for a new coach will begin later this week.

• Region Champion - 2009, 2010, 2011
• Region Runner-Up - 2004, 2006, 2012
• VHSL Playoffs - 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
