LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) A nationally known lawyer spoke to Washington and Lee Law Students today.
Lee Levine is one of the top media lawyers in the country, representing a range of clients as high as the US Supreme Court. Before talking with the students about how he litigates cases, he spoke with us about the position of journalism today in the face of Trump administration limitations.
“This is all uncharted territory because it’s never happened before," Levine said. "But if it gets severe enough and it has a real impact on the free flow of information to the public about what its government’s doing, then I think the First Amendment would have something to say about it, and litigation would be a real option. And hopefully the courts would be there to protect the public’s right to know.”
