The museum is now offering new ways for the public to help keep the locomotive alive.

Recently the museum rolled out an opportunity for people to travel in first class style aboard a luxury car.

The trip to Washington, D.C It was so successful, they've added another trip to Savannah, Georiga.

Museum Communications Director Shayne Dwyer said proceeds from ticket sales will help maintain the 6-11.

"This is first class service," he said. "Amtrak offers a great service already, but riding in the private dome car that is really, it's through the roof in terms of the difference of service that you can have. It is truly an experience. You're not just riding your way to Savannah, you are experiencing the ride to Savannah."

Riders can take the train to Charleston, South Carolina if they don't want to go all the way to Savannah.
