Tree covered in stuffed animals near Roanoke's Highland Park falls

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) A landmark near Roanoke's Highland Park has fallen.

If you've been in that area, you've probably seen the tree covered in stuffed animals.

It got our attention about six years ago when we did a story on it.

In 2010, the woman who decorated the tree, Marilyn Cantu, told us "the good Lord told her to" decorate it.

Wednesday night's gusty winds knocked the tree over.

The tree was removed Thursday morning.
