Twin Creeks Brewing Company expands Vinton operation

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Open just over a year, Twin Creeks Brewing Company is expanding with the addition of two new fermentation tanks.

The barrels are so big that they don't fit through the doors of this historic downtown Vinton storefront. Instead, crews took out a window Tuesday morning, lifted them over the wall, and hoisted them inside.

Owners say there's been so much demand for their brand, that they had to expand in the new year.

"For a small as we are, that's a major milestone for our company, co-owner and brewer Andy Bishop said. "We're proud and pleased to have support to get us to this place so quickly."

Brewers will spend this week cleaning the new tanks. Production begins next week.

"It doesn't make any money just sitting there empty, so we have to make sure that it's full and making product," Bishop said.

Bishop says the Vinton brewery is working on a distribution agreement with plans to be in 5-10 restaurants and taprooms next year.
