Two Danville residents hospitalized after suffering gunshot wounds

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Danville Police Department is investigating an incident in which two residents were sent to the hospital after suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a release from the Danville Police Department.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., Danville Police responded to a call in the 1000 block of Paxton Street for reports of shots being fired, according to the release.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered two Danville residents suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to the release, a 59-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and a 34-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his left hand.

Both were treated at SOVAH Heath for non-life threatening injuries and were soon after released.

This investigation is ongoing.
