Two Roanoke nonprofits lead new effort to reach inner city youth, right where they live

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Reaching out to inner-city youth right where they live is the mission for two Roanoke non-profit leaders.

Owners of Zoo Class, Inc. and The Humble Hustle Company talk about effort to reach out to inner city kids in Roanoke.

Gregory Goodman is the owner of Zoo Class, Incorporated and Xavier Duckett is the founder and president of The Humble Hustle Company.

The pair is leading an effort in Northwest Roanoke to reach out to kids to help curb crime and violence in neighborhoods.

They deliver popsicles to kids, along with free clothing, while showing interest and interacting with them.

The effort is called Show Love in the Streets. The next event is happening Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Goodwill side parking lot off Melrose Avenue in Roanoke.
