Two men treated for gunshot wounds in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Two men were treated for gunshot wounds following an incident in Lynchburg Thursday night.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to the 1500 block of Buchanan Street at around 10:44 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of shots fired in that area. Officers began searching and investigating the area.

A little while later, two men showed up separately at the Lynhcburg General Hospital for treatment. Police say both men were suffering from gunshot wounds they had received on Buchanan Street.

According to police, one of the men, who is 25 years old, received a small gunshot wound to his arm. The second man, who is 20 years old received a grazing wound to his head and back. Police say that neither of the men had life-threatening injuries.

Lynchburg police did not say if any arrests have been made at this time.
